ISLAMABAD – In a significant development for the revival and promotion of hockey in Pakistan, Alaska Batteries and the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) signed a landmark memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Islamabad, officially announcing Alaska Batteries as the title sponsor of the federation. The partnership reflects Alaska Batteries’ commitment to supporting national sports and strengthening Pakistan’s hockey ecosystem by encouraging talent development at both domestic and international levels. The MoU was signed at a ceremony in Islamabad by Chairman Alaska Batteries Haroon Mahmood and CEO usa Bin Haroon, alongside Pakistan Hockey Federation officials.
It was attended by distinguished guests including Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Mehreen Sajid, and Kiran Dar. Members of the hockey fraternity present at the ceremony included Shahnaz Sheikh, Ahmad Alam, Rashid Latif, Rehan Butt, Qamar Ibrahim, and Mohsin Nawaz.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Alaska Batteries Haroon Mahmood highlighted the importance of corporate support in rebuilding Pakistan’s sports landscape. “Hockey is an integral part of Pakistan’s national identity and it deserves collective efforts for its resurgence. We are proud to partner with the PHF and contribute towards the revival of the country’s national game,” he said. The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of the MoU, followed by a collective pledge by all stakeholders to work together for the promotion and revival of hockey in Pakistan.
