PESHAWAR – Dr Amjad Ali on Saturday said the KP government had introduced stricter legislation to curb drug trafficking and strengthen action against narcotics-related crimes. He said punishments and fines for those involved in the drug trade had been significantly enhanced under the new legislation to discourage narcotics trafficking across the province.
The minister said directives had also been issued to police officials in his constituency to adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards individuals involved in the sale and distribution of drugs.
Dr Amjad Ali made the remarks while addressing an anti-drug protest demonstration at Barikot Bazaar in Swat, attended by political workers, social figures, public representatives.
