
LAHORE – Sindh Basketball Association (SBBA) Secretary Amir Sharif has congratulated renowned sports organiser Javed Raees on being awarded the Presidential Pride of Performance (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) for his services to sports development. He announced that a formal reception will be held after Eid-ul-Adha in his honour. A committee has been formed under the supervision of Direc-tor Sports Karachi Commissioner Ghulam Muhammad Khan to organise the reception, with AC Aram Bagh Hazim Bhangwar serving as patron-in-chief. The SBBA has also expressed gratitude to Syed Wasim Hashmi, President of Syed Foundation and a prominent figure of POA, for donating water cool-ers for Karachi, Sukkur and Larkana regions to support basketball activities and player facilities. The do-nation was formally handed over to SBBA through former KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan and has been widely appreciated by the basketball community. SBBA President Ghulam Abbas Jamal acknowledged the contribution, saying such initiatives play a vital role in supporting grassroots sports and improving facilities for athletes at the regional level. Meanwhile, SBBA Secretary Amir Sharif has convened an important meeting on June 1 at 10am to dis-cuss key development matters, including the upcoming summer coaching camp and plans for a wheel-chair basketball tournament. Officials from interior Sindh will attend the meeting via video link, while Karachi-based office-bearers will participate at the association’s headquarters. Decisions regarding future training programs and in-clusive sports initiatives are expected during the session.
