Attock – Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that welfare programs like mass marriages are a ray of hope for the weaker sections of the society and he will ensure that no deserving girl is deprived of marriage. He announced that another big program of mass marriages will be organized after Eid-ul-Azha by completing the registration process, while a target of 500 mass marriages has been set in the next phase. He expressed these views while addressing a grand mass marriage ceremony held in Fatehjang, where 120 deserving girls tied the knot. The Punjab Governor paid tribute to the chief organizer of the ceremony, Malik Kamran Khaki, for the successful and splendid organization and said that he had earlier organized 35 marriages and then it was announced that the target of 100 marriages would be met before Eid-ul-Azha, however, a new example has been set today.
The Punjab Governor said, he considers all these girls as his daughters and shares their joys and sorrows equally. He said that the philanthropists actively participated in this good deed and provided him with crores of rupees for this purpose. He also specially mentioned his son in making arrangements. He said that his pocket is still empty today but his heart is full of the spirit of serving the people. He will continue to try to solve the problems of the people wherever he is. He said that his team worked day and night to make the mass marriage program a success and in the next phase, the team members will bear the expenses of ten marriages each. He added that he cannot do anything alone, he needs more public support to take this mission forward.
