Fire breaks out in Margalla Hills, hiking trails closed

A fire broke out in the Margalla Hills near Sector F-5 in Islamabad on Monday, forcing authorities to temporarily close all hiking trails in the area.

According to officials, the blaze spread to three separate locations across the hills, triggering a large-scale firefighting and rescue operation.

More than 65 personnel, including rescue workers, firefighters, and other emergency staff, were deployed to control the fire and prevent further spread.

Authorities said strong winds created difficulties for rescue teams, while the mountainous terrain limited access to several affected points, making the operation more challenging.

Efforts to contain the fire were continuing as officials monitored the situation closely.
