Ben Schneider launched a public campaign attempting to pressure the company into resolving the matter
A dispute involving a Star Wars Lego collection reportedly worth $200,000 has escalated after YouTuber Reckless Ben claimed police raided him while he investigated allegations surrounding toy retailer Bricks and Minifigs.
Bryan Mansell and his father had reportedly spent more than two decades collecting rare Star Wars Lego sets before consigning the collection to a Bricks and Minifigs franchise in Keizer, Oregon, in 2023.
Under the agreement, the store would sell individual sets while ownership remained with the Mansell family.
Problems reportedly began after the franchise changed ownership. Mansell alleged that the new operators claimed ownership of the collection and denied the family access to the remaining inventory.
Previous franchise management reportedly supplied copies of the consignment agreement and security footage supporting the original arrangement.
Reckless Ben, whose real name is Ben Schneider, later launched a public campaign attempting to pressure the company into resolving the matter.
His investigation included staged rival businesses, lottery raffles and what he described as a Lego “cult” designed to attract attention to the dispute.
The YouTuber also documented repeated visits to Bricks and Minifigs executives, including CEO Ammon McNeff.
Schneider claimed company representatives eventually offered to return the Lego sets if Mansell apologised, which his team believed could affect liability in the dispute.
The investigation later expanded to Utah, where Schneider said local police raided him during the ongoing conflict. “I am in some serious legal trouble right now,” Schneider said in the video.
Bricks and Minifigs has denied wrongdoing, stating that it does not “participate in the exploitation of anyone, especially older adults”. The collection has reportedly not yet been returned.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign launched by the YouTuber for the Mansell family has raised more than $10,000 as a legal dispute continues to attract widespread attention online.
