Pakistan secure five medals at Asian Junior Squash Championships



LAHORE  –  Pakistan produced an impressive performance at the 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2026, returning home with an outstanding tally of five medals, including two gold, one silver and two bronze medals, as the country’s young squash stars showcased their talent on the continental stage.

The standout performers for Pakistan were Nauman Khan and Ahmad Rayyan Khalil, who captured gold medals in the boys U-17 and boys U-15 categories respectively. Nauman Khan delivered a dominant comeback performance in the U-17 final to defeat India’s Shiven Agarwal 3-1. After narrowly losing the opening game 10-12, Nauman responded brilliantly to claim the next three games 11-7, 11-2 and 11-5 in a 46-minute contest.

In the boys U-15 final, Ahmad Rayyan Khalil produced a commanding display against Malaysia’s PNG Vidhurran Ruthiran, winning in straight games 11-7, 11-3 and 11-4 to secure Pakistan’s second gold medal of the championship in just 29 minutes.

Pakistan also celebrated a silver medal through Mahnoor Ali in the girls U-15 category. Mahnoor fought hard in a closely contested final against China’s Ziyuan Yin but ultimately went down 0-3, with all three games decided by narrow margins of 10-12, 9-11 and 10-12. Adding to Pakistan’s medal tally were M Umair Arif and M Sohail Adnan, who claimed bronze medals in the boys U-17 and boys U-15 categories respectively. The national team also received praise for the performances of Abdullah Nawaz and Mustafa Khan, both of whom reached the quarterfinal stage, while Sehrish Ali advanced to the third round before losing to her sister, Mahnoor Ali.
