The Boys, a show that really is not all about superheroes (supes), has ended after a run of seven years.
But just like Game of Thrones and Stranger Things, the last season, particularly the finale, went haywire, according to some fans.
However, the stars of the Prime Video series defended the last season in response to the negative fan reception.
For example, Karl Urban, who portrays William Butcher in his infamous style, hit back at a critic on social media.
“Stupid a** humour? Son… Your handle is literally soupypoopy69, & FYI, @erickripke1 wrote this s*** because it’s what Clara would have wanted,” he sarcastically wrote.
Laz Alonso, who plays Mother’s Milk, reacted to the comment with several laughing emojis.
Urban’s remarks are somehow a reference to The Boys’ years of critical acclaim and pop culture dominance.
But it seems it won’t hold up against a flood of criticism set off after today’s finale.

Some blamed the writers; others put it on the producers. In a nutshell, it appears fans are not over the moon about the finale.
Despite the avalanche of criticism, The Boys’ last season recorded record viewership.
However, this season is not the end of The Boys universe, as at least two spin-offs are in the works.
