Jasprit Bumrah endured a challenging campaign in the Indian Premier League after recording an unwanted milestone in T20 cricket history.
According to Indian media reports, the Mumbai Indians fast bowler became the first player in IPL history to concede more than 100 runs per wicket in a single season among bowlers who completed at least 40 overs.
Bumrah managed only four wickets in 13 appearances during the tournament and did not claim more than one wicket in any match throughout the season.
The pacer conceded 294 runs overall while maintaining an economy rate of 8.37. His bowling average was reported at 102.50, while his strike rate stood at 73.50.
Cricket analysts said opposition batters appeared to adopt a careful strategy against Bumrah, preferring to play defensively rather than take aggressive risks, which reduced his chances of taking wickets.
Despite the disappointing statistics, experts believe the Indian pacer remains one of the leading fast bowlers in international cricket.
