LAHORE – Dar Hockey Academy has once again underlined its pivotal role in Pakistan hockey’s talent development system, with four of its players selected in the national U-18 squad for the U-18 Asia Cup in Japan. The Pakistan U-18 team has departed for Kakamegahara, Japan, where the event will be held from May 29 to June 6. Dar Hockey Academy has maintained its uninterrupted representation in Pakistan’s age-group national teams since 2010. For the past 16 years, every Pakistan junior hockey side has included at least one player from the Lahore-based academy, which has earned widespread recognition for identifying and nurturing young talent from across the country. This year, four academy players have secured places in the national squad, reflecting the institution’s consistent contribution to Pakistan hockey. The selected players are Asam Haider and Hassan Akbar from Kot Radha Kishan in district Kasur, Abdullah Awan from Fort Abbas in district Bahawalnagar, and M Usman from Sangla Hill in district Nankana Sahib. Asam Haider has been appointed captain of the Pakistan U-18 side, while fellow academy player Hassan Akbar will serve as vice-captain for the tournament.
