Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Monday, on broad-based sectoral gains led by communication services, healthcare, and real estate stocks.
The CSE All Share index settled up 1.98% at 22,364.77.
Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa PLC were the top percentage gainers on the CSE All Share index, rising 20% and 17.65%, respectively.
Trading volume on the index rose to 106.1 million shares from 78.4 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover rose to 2.43 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($7.5 million) from 2.18 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 51.7 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 2.4 billion rupees, the data showed.
