COLOMBO – Sri Lanka have named Kusal Mendis as their white-ball captain for the upcoming all-format tour of the West Indies. The tour will feature a three-match ODI series followed by the same number of T20Is. The Islanders will conclude the tour with two Test matches. Seasoned batter Kusal Mendis has been handed the reins of the white-ball team, with all-rounder Kamindu Mendis named as his deputy. The former will take over from Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka, who previously led ODI and T20I sides respectively. Meanwhile, Kamindu Mendis will also remain vice-captain for the Test team, which will be led by Dhananjaya de Silva. The ODI squad bowling lineup will feature experienced players Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, and Dushmantha Chameera. Meanwhile, the Test side will include Dinesh Chandimal, Prabath Jayasuriya, and Lahiru Kumara, alongside newcomers, Pasindu Sooriyabandara and Sonal Dinusha.
