Mild earthquake shakes parts of Punjab, causes panic among residents



Tremors were felt in several cities of Punjab on Monday, including Mandi Bahauddin, Malakwal, and Phalia, causing panic among residents.

According to reports, people rushed out of their homes and buildings after feeling the earthquake, while many were seen reciting prayers during the tremors.

Officials from the Seismological Centre stated that the earthquake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale. The quake had a depth of 12 kilometres and its epicentre was located nearly 58 kilometres southwest of Jhelum.

Authorities said fear spread across the affected areas following the tremors; however, no casualties or property damage had been reported immediately after the incident.
