Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday said the government is making every possible effort to provide relief to the common man in the upcoming federal budget despite economic and security challenges facing the country.
Speaking to the media, he said the government remained committed to easing the burden on ordinary citizens and was continuing consultations on budget-related matters. He added that a broader relief package could have been announced had the country not faced a war-like security situation.
Rana Sanaullah said the current government had succeeded in steering Pakistan away from economic default despite global financial pressures. He said efforts were under way to ensure the upcoming budget offers maximum possible facilities and relief to the public.
Commenting on the security situation, he said militants entering from Afghanistan were involved in attacks inside Pakistan and stressed that stronger border management was essential to curb terrorism. He urged Afghanistan not to become a tool of India and to take effective measures to secure its borders.
The special assistant also called for national unity against terrorism and praised the role of Pakistan’s armed forces in combating militant elements, expressing hope that peace would soon be restored across the country.
On foreign affairs, Rana Sanaullah reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people and said Islamabad would back any agreement recognizing State of Palestine if it was accepted by the Palestinian leadership.
