Pakistan’s Asian junior medal-winning squash stars receive hero’s welcome



LAHORE  –  Pakistan’s young squash players received a rousing welcome at Islamabad International Airport after returning from the 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2026 with an impressive haul of five medals. Officials of the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), coaches, families and a large number of squash enthusiasts gathered at the airport to welcome the young athletes, applauding their outstanding performances on the continental stage. Pakistan enjoyed a successful campaign at the prestigious championship, securing two gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals against some of Asia’s best emerging squash talent.

Nauman Khan delivered a brilliant performance to capture the gold medal in the boys U-17 category, while Ahmad Rayyan Khalil claimed the boys U-15 title to give Pakistan its second gold medal of the tournament. Mahnoor Ali added to the country’s success by winning a silver medal in the girls U-15 category after an impressive run throughout the event. Pakistan’s medal tally was further strengthened by M Umair Arif, who secured bronze in the boys U-17 category, and M Sohail Adnan, who earned bronze in the boys U-15 event.

PAKISTAN’S AZAN ALI KHAN WINS PSA INTERNATIONAL SQUASH TITLE IN US

Rising squash player Azan Ali Khan won the PSA International junior squash tournament held in the United States after securing the boys’ U-19 title at the Squash on Fire Junior Gold Championship in Washington, DC.  Representing Pakistan Army, Azan defeated American player Jon Rockefeller in the final after a competitive contest. He lost one game but recovered strongly to beat his opponent 3-1 to lift the title.
